  13.     I have a extremely strange problem.  I have just installed a super IDE
  14.   controller in my computer.  Everything seems to be working fine, except
  15.   that when I run MSD from dos I am told that I have a UART 8250 for com 1 and
  16.   2:(
  17.     Is it possible that I need to upgrade my main board as well as replace
  18.   the IDE/IO card?  Jumper changes?
  19.     Bad card?
  20.     Is there a more accurate test of my system?

  22.     I don't have the main board manual for system, and can't find identifying
  23.   characteristics.

  25.     What I do know.  AMD 386DX 40 surface mount & solder in
  26.                      ISA bus 5 16 bit slots 1 8 bit
  27.                      AMI bios 12/12/92

  29.     MSD claims that the board is made by American Megatrends?
  30.     If more information is required please tell me what to look for.
