- Comrades!
-
- I have a extremely strange problem. I have just installed a super IDE
- controller in my computer. Everything seems to be working fine, except
- that when I run MSD from dos I am told that I have a UART 8250 for com 1 and
- 2:(
- Is it possible that I need to upgrade my main board as well as replace
- the IDE/IO card? Jumper changes?
- Bad card?
- Is there a more accurate test of my system?
-
- I don't have the main board manual for system, and can't find identifying
- characteristics.
-
- What I do know. AMD 386DX 40 surface mount & solder in
- ISA bus 5 16 bit slots 1 8 bit
- AMI bios 12/12/92
-
- MSD claims that the board is made by American Megatrends?
- If more information is required please tell me what to look for.
- All information is valuable to me. Post or Mail.
